Captivation

On one hand, there’s the drama of the universe that is miraculous, powerful, and remarkable. The striking of lightning. The metamorphosis of a caterpillar to a butterfly. A stunning sunset. A mantis devouring its prey. The chaos that surrounds us is out of our control. It’s not always positive or free of suffering, but it’s captivating nonetheless.

Then there’s the inner drama and uncertainty that we can manifest within our minds. Using energy to uphold attachment to torment, impatience, anguish and anxiety can deplete energy that could be spent on discovery, expression, contribution, and love. The things that can get us closer to peace.
