A Transformational Piece

One-of-a-kind garment custom-made for the elegant Ayesha from her own Indian fabrics: cow-printed cotton, red floral-printed silk, and gold satin trim. Textiles are transformed into a Japanese-style haori jacket.

Underarm openings, traditional to a woman’s kimono, reveal a flash of red silk lining.

Print matching across the garment brings continuity of the print between seams.

A gold satin collar catches the light as it continues to the hip.

Gold satin gussets unite the front and back sides of the kimono below the underarm openings.
